The Turkish lira (TRY) is the national currency. Besides dollars and euros, British pounds, Russian rubles and Iranian rials are exchanged often. Istanbul, Antalya and Ankara have the most offers, with more in İzmir, Bursa and Gaziantep.
Private exchange offices (döviz bürosu) usually give noticeably better rates than banks and airports, especially in trading districts such as Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar. P2P offers let you swap USDT or USDC for lira — stablecoins are widely used for savings in Turkey.
