Sint Maarten uses the Caribbean guilder (XCG), pegged to the US dollar, and US dollars are accepted almost everywhere; the French side of the island uses the euro. Philipsburg, the capital and cruise port, has most banks and services, with more in Simpson Bay and Cole Bay.
