The Bangladeshi taka (BDT) is the national currency. Remittances from workers abroad keep demand high for US dollars, Saudi riyals, UAE dirhams and British pounds, and Indian rupees are common near the border. Dhaka has the most offers, followed by Chattogram, Sylhet, Khulna and Rajshahi.
Foreign currency is exchanged at banks and licensed money changers, many of them in Dhaka’s Motijheel and Gulshan areas and at the airport. For a direct swap of US dollars and Bangladeshi taka in Bangladesh, check the P2P offers on the map.
