Indicative rates, not an offer. Averaged from real buy and sell prices.
The Iranian rial (IRR) is the official currency, but prices are usually quoted in tomans, where one toman equals ten rials. US dollars, euros, UAE dirhams and Turkish lira are the foreign currencies in highest demand. Tehran has the most offers, followed by Mashhad, Isfahan, Shiraz and Tabriz.
Licensed exchange offices (sarrafi) are the main channel for cash, as foreign bank cards do not work in Iran. In Iran, listings let you exchange US dollars for Iranian rials directly with another person, in cash or by transfer.
