The Jamaican dollar (JMD) is the national currency, and US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas; British pounds, euros and Canadian dollars are also exchanged. Kingston has the most offers, followed by Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, Negril and Spanish Town.
Licensed cambios often offer better rates than banks and hotels, and remittance agencies are common across the island. In Jamaica, listings are a way to swap Jamaican dollars and US dollars directly with another person.
