Eritrea — Currency exchange map

The Eritrean nakfa (ERN) is the national currency and is pegged to the US dollar; US dollars, euros and Saudi riyals are the main foreign currencies. Almost all services are in Asmara, with fewer in Keren, Massawa and Assab.
Currency exchange is handled mainly by the state exchange service and banks, and cash is essential since cards are rarely accepted. In Eritrea, listings let you exchange US dollars for Eritrean nakfa directly with another person, in cash or by transfer.
