The Faroe Islands use the Faroese króna, issued at par with the Danish krone (DKK), and Danish notes circulate freely alongside it. Tórshavn has most banks and services, with more in Klaksvík and near Vágar airport.
Visitors mostly exchange euros, British pounds and US dollars, and card payments are accepted almost everywhere. In the Faroe Islands, listings let you exchange US dollars for Danish kroner directly with another person, in cash or by transfer.
